Patches arrived after the untimely death of his owner. It took a few days to earn his trust, but once he connects with someone, he is totally loyal. All you have to do is see this big old hound walking around carrying one of his many stuffed animal friends and you will instantly fall in love.

While he is not the kind of dog to immediately connect with new people, he is totally worth the time it takes to get to know him. If you are interested in Patches, you will need to make a few visits to the shelter to let him get to know you. Patches is also going to do best in a lower-key home where he is the only dog.

Patches has had some health issues due to severe allergies. He will need to remain on his prescription food and hypoallergenic treats. While we have been able to keep his allergies under control, for the most part, Patches will likely require daily oral medications and receives monthly allergy injections.
